The third session of the UTF Business Talk event series, organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance, was successfully held on May 7, 2025.

As part of the event, Mr. Murat MERDOĞAN, Software Engineer and Executive at Vesacons, and Mr. Davut Paşahan, SAP Consultant at Vesacons, came together with our students to deliver a presentation titled “The Use of SAP and ERP Software in Business & Career Opportunities.”

The session began with a detailed explanation of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)—its definition, why businesses need it, and its general purposes. The speakers emphasized that the absence of ERP systems can lead to:

• Disorganized data management,

• Lack of real-time analytics,

• Difficulties in interdepartmental integration,

• Inefficiency in business processes, and

• High operational costs.

Mr. Davut Paşahan highlighted that an ERP system enables a company to manage its accounting, sales, production, human resources, and finance operations in an integrated environment. He further explained that the proper integration of SAP ensures smooth data flow between different modules and supports the implementation of financial processes and regulatory compliance.

The presentation continued with an introduction to SAP modules, along with the business operations they support and the benefits they offer. It was noted that SAP modules are designed to automate business processes, increase efficiency, and facilitate faster and more effective decision-making.

In the final part of the event, the advantages of ERP systems were discussed in detail—ranging from increased productivity, access to accurate and real-time data, enhanced reporting capabilities, improved interdepartmental coordination, to deeper business insights and precise financial analysis.
